Genesis Tango

1

We had one lung,

so we shared breaths.

We had one eye,

so we took turns seeing.

We had a breast.

One set of genitals.

We made due.

This was the first day.

2

We moved in circles.

We moved in arcs.

We moved as no other creatures here have moved…

Together apart.

Together apart.

On two legs we tangoed,

your eyes and my heart.

3

We made something more than the sum of our parts.

Some primordial magic.

Another space and time…

…beyond what could be known in each of our hearts.
