is most known for being the woman behind the solo singer-songwriter project, Lady Lazarus, which has earned praise and attention from The New York Times, NPR, Pitchfork, Consequence of Sound, SPIN, Stereogum, Interview, Magnet Magazine, and many more for her singular and spirited brand of piano-based folk music.

As Lady Lazarus, Melissa has released three albums, Mantic (2011), All My Love In Half Light (2013), and Miracles (2015), produced numerous music videos, and toured across the U.S.

Melissa is also a fine artist and creative writer. Her writings have been published in PopMatters, Dangerous Minds, Skirt! Magazine, Impose, and more.

Originally from San Jose, Melissa is now living in Aptos, CA where she is writing her first novel, creating new songs, art, and sharing her world on her blog.
